Electrical System
Ford sync 3 "apim" failure. The module controlling the infotainment system in the car failed after a software update to version 3.0. Happened 7 days past and 6000mi before warranty expired with ford unwilling to cover any of the cost. After apim replacement battery also failed. Aftermarket sellers of apim's acknowledge high failure rate on 1st gen (2016-17) apims.

2017 fusion is once again back at the dealer to make a third attempt to find why the battery is being drained. Each time 10/dec/18, 11/jan/19, and 18/aug/19 the vehicle did not start it was parked in our garage. It also took hours to recharge the battery to get it started to drive it back to the dealer each time. It is unbelievable to us that ford does not recall these cars.
