First time problem occurred was in a parking lot. Able to reverse. As soon as vehicle was put into drive engine shut off with no warning. All electrical systems worked. I was in reverse pulling out of a parking spot i was in the middle of a roadway when my car would not move anymore. The gear shift had detached from the transmission. Pulled over to try to close the door but the latch had failed entirely.
