Steering power assist failure when starting the car, putting the transmission into reverse and begin backing the car out, the steering power assist failure notification displays and the vehicles steering is disabled. Although currently occuring only when backing up, i consider this car as unsafe as it seems it could just as easily occur when on the freeway

This is a common issue in 2010 fusions as you can find lots of similar experiences. While heading towards an exit on the highway going 70mph, the steering suddenly lost all power steering. Two warnings appeared on the display saying "service advancetrac" and "power steer assist failure." everything returns to normal after restarting the car and it happens once again at random.
