After 3 years of the power steering assist fault and service advance trac warning messages the car finally held the code long enough for ford to diagnose the code. There are 4 control arms and the power steering rack that are bad in the car now and ford wants $2875 to make the repair which i cannot afford and now have a useless car.

Takata recall, i have a 2010 ford fusion. I have only 62,000 miles on my vehicle. I left work was crossing a busy bridge and lost my power steering and advanced tracking at the same time. As i was turning left onto the bridge in traffic i lost control and almost went into the side of another vehicle. I began getting service power steering and service advance tracking alerts. I have researched this since it happened…

My car was having multiple issues. First the epas system went out as i was driving. There was a recall for previous versions but when i looked up the 2010 ford fusion 3.0lv6 awd it was not included even though it was one of the pioneer vehicles of fords to have the system. Once i got the power steering repaired i started hearing a grinding. As i drove the car to my house to get a safe look all of a sudden there was…

Driving at about 15 mph straight ahead, went over a very small bump, a big noise and the front end on the drivers side suddenly dropped. Inspection revealed the driver's side front spring had rusted out and broken near the bottom causing the spring to slip out and putting all the weight on the strut causing the front end to collapse on that side. Turns out the front passenger front spring was also rusted extensively…

Car lost power steering as i was turning, pulled hard right, causing car to hit a small tree. Minor damage; cracked headlight lens and front nose piece detached from fenders. The car was restarted and the steering appeared to be fine. However, since this happened, the steering appears to be harder to control and the car has a hard pull when accelerating similar to torque steering. The car never had a problem with…

Had my fusion parked in my garage when the drivers coil spring broke / collapsed. Took coil and strut assay to local ma ford dealer and asked about any warranty or help from ford, they told me this issue wasn't covered by any recalls and that i would assume responsibility for the repairs. While parked in my garage, the car made a very loud bang. I looked at the car to find the front drivers wheel way up into the fender well. I thought it might have been a broken ball joint. Once the car was lifted, i found the coil spring had snapped, just sitting there!! I also found that it had been broken in two spots as on one break it was rusted and the new break was fresh. My family drives the car a lot and i…

I stopped the car and changed the tire, but once i started driving the caution alarm came on and started flashing that the "electric power assisted steering" malfunctioned.
